Carnaval is one of the most crowded times in Rio de Janeiro, along with New Year's Eve, when thousands of tourists flock to the city to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Everyone has heard of the famous Rio Carnival in Brazil. But did you know that Spain’s island of Tenerife hosts a hugely colorful carnival which is considered the second biggest in the world? In fact, some residents of this volcanic archipelago in the Canary Islands even feel that their carnival is better than Brazil’s annual extravaganza.
