A state-of-the-art flying theatre ride opens August 29 at Table Rock Centre, offering an immersive journey above Niagara’s most iconic landscapes

Niagara Falls has long captivated visitors with its raw natural power—but now, guests can experience it like never before. Opening on August 29, 2025, Niagara Takes Flight is a groundbreaking new flying theatre attraction located inside Niagara Parks’ Table Rock Centre, just steps from the world-famous Horseshoe Falls.

This $25 million investment from Niagara Parks marks the final phase in the revitalization of Table Rock Centre, transforming the site into a world-class destination and offering an unforgettable, sensory-rich experience that will transport guests through 56 kilometres of the Niagara River corridor—all without leaving their seats.

An unforgettable ride over Niagara

Niagara Takes Flight is Ontario’s first flying theatre attraction. Visitors will be lifted into the air by gondola-style seating, surrounded by a massive 180-degree, 17-metre-wide domed screen. Through high-definition drone cinematography, synced motion, wind, mist, and scent effects, guests will feel as if they’re soaring above Niagara Falls, gliding over Queen Victoria Park, swooping past the Niagara Whirlpool, and tracing the region’s journey through the four seasons.

Every detail of the experience—from the dramatic visuals to the subtle sensory cues—has been carefully designed to leave visitors in awe and offer new perspectives of this iconic Canadian landscape.

Before you fly: A journey through Niagara’s history

Before boarding the ride, guests walk through a multi-room pre-show experience, immersing themselves in Niagara’s complex history and culture. These themed spaces explore the region’s geological origins, Indigenous heritage, hydroelectric innovation, and the many visitors who helped make Niagara Falls a global tourism symbol.

One of the standout areas is the Ancestors Room, where guests gather around a central fire to hear the Haudenosaunee Creation Story. This room, developed in collaboration with Indigenous community members and artist Sara General (Mohawk, Turtle Clan, Six Nations of the Grand River), creates a meaningful bridge between storytelling, education, and immersive design.

Creative power behind the project

This world-class experience was brought to life by some of the top creative and technical talents in the industry:

  • Brogent Technologies – Global leaders in flying theatre development, with projects in New York, Las Vegas, and Vancouver.
  • Rick Rothschild – Former Disney Imagineer and original creator of Soarin’ Over California, serving as Niagara Takes Flight’s creative director.
  • FORREC – The Toronto-based experiential design firm responsible for the ride’s immersive pre-show environments.
  • Great Lakes Scenic Studios – Fabricators of the rich set designs used throughout the attraction.
  • Nova Film – Coordinators of the high-definition drone cinematography.
  • Mike Quigley – Award-winning Canadian director and aerial cinematographer leading the film production.
  • Merit Contractors Niagara – General contractors who transformed the site into a next-generation visitor attraction.

Filming took place between September 2024 and January 2025, using cutting-edge drone technology to capture never-before-seen views of Niagara’s most significant natural and cultural landmarks, including the Niagara Parks Power Station, Old Fort Erie, the Landscape of Nations Memorial, and of course, the Horseshoe Falls itself.

A new era of tourism for Niagara Parks

Niagara Takes Flight isn’t just an attraction—it’s a cultural and economic milestone. Entirely funded through Niagara Parks’ own revenue, the $25 million project is a bold investment in Ontario’s tourism future.

Niagara Takes Flight offers a new perspective and appreciation for this special place and the world-renowned environmental and cultural heritage features that Niagara Parks has been entrusted to protect since 1885,” said Bob Gale, Chair of Niagara Parks.

Ontario Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, Stan Cho, added:

"With Niagara Parks’ new attraction, visitors will be able to experience and appreciate the Falls like never before... I’m excited to welcome this new attraction as a cultural experience and a new economic driver for the region."
