The Strand Hotel Swakopmund is one of those underrated 4-star properties which should definitely be considered a 5-star. Located directly along the idyllic Swakopmund Mole (promenade), it boasts direct access to the town's main beach.
The Strand features 125 rooms and suites with ocean views. We decided to spoil ourselves by booking one of the 6 junior suites ideally located to guarantee an uninterrupted beach view. Our 42 square metre junior suite showcased here is specially named "Skeleton Coast."
It would have been easy to stay in the hotel all day for the three days, enjoying the beautiful room and restaurant/deli, but much awaits to be discovered in Swakopmund and neighbouring Walvis Bay.
The nearby picturesque pier, originally conceived in 1905 and last renovated in 2010, is a popular place to take a walk and stop for a bite to eat at the famous Jetty 1905 restaurant. Turning back from the walk along landing jetty provides a gorgeous view of Swakopmund.
